Those in search of the fastest road car in the world won’t find it being constructed in Italy. Germany or the U.K. It is not being built in Detroit. You may be surprised to learn it is being made in a small Texas town known more for its mattresses than super-cars. Welcome to Sealy, Texas and the home of Hennessy. Strap yourself into America’s Hypercar. This is the Hennessy Venom F5. Are you ready to experience speeds that exceed 300 miles per hour?
Texas Made
While Hennessy’s car making interests date back decades, Hennessy Special Vehicles was founded in 2017 by John Hennessy. His goal? To make Hennessy a leader in the automotive and super-car industry. To that end, the Hennessy Venom F5 was created to be the world’s fastest road car. Named for the highest tornado winds measured in the Fujita scale, the Venom F5 is handmade and built from the ground up. A new chassis, design and carbon fiber body are engineered with a hyper-focus on aerodynamics. It has a super-light curb weight of just 2950 lbs. Like a world champion middleweight boxer, it is agile, light on its feet, and carries a powerful punch.
A Car Designed to be Timeless
Part of John Hennessy’s mission with the Venom F5 is to not only build a car that is fast, but one that will last. His intention is to create a car with a design and performance that will still be relevant in a quarter-of-a-century. The Hennessy Venom F5 is a car crafted to be timeless…one at a time.
Next Level Performance
The team at Hennessey is working on developing a twin turbo V8 engine that has the capabilities to produce over 1600 hp. Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a 7-speed, single clutch paddle shift transmission. Its combination of a lightweight carbon fiber construction, minimal drag and good old-fashioned American raw horsepower will produce next level performance.
The Hennessey Venom F5 is expected to launch from zero to 186 mph in less than 10 seconds. This is quicker than F1 race cars. It is engineered to rocket from zero to 249 mph and back to a stop in under 30 seconds. The Holy Grail is, of course, is a road car with a top speed in excess of over 300 mph.
Why would one want a road car with over 300 mph capabilities? Because its possible and because they can. The Hennessey Venom F5 is not shy or timid in its goals and intentions. It has a vision of its place in automotive history and is motivated to realize its intentions. For those with the means, this too can be a vision worth chasing. This may just be the beginning of what is ahead. Welcome to America’s Hypercar, the Hennessey Venom F5.
