Porsche boasts that the design for its 911 is “timeless” and has barely changed since 1963. Porsche continues to pay homage to its history and DNA with the introduction of the 2022 Porsche 811 GTS models. While changes are subtle and nuanced, Porsche fans and those who aspire to be the owner of a new Porsche will have more choices in the coming year. Porsche is including the GTS models in its 911 lineup for 2022, which are available in both rear and four-wheel drive coupe and cabriolet editions, as well as an all-wheel drive Targa edition.
These new Porsches have some exciting design elements and offer thrilling driving experiences. The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS models also offer a more “reachable” price point, starting at about $138,000. This could be perceived as a bargain when compared to Porsche’s, which can often be found at twice the price. But what is price without value? The 2022 Porsche 9111 GTS offers both.
A Little Extra Horsepower
The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS starts with just a bit more horsepower than its S Model cousin with the gain attributed to the high-compression engine’s turbo boost. This allows the Carrera 4 GTS to reach zero to 60 in an impressive 3.1 seconds. With PDK and Porsche’s Launch Control, the Carrera can reach the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. A stick shift edition Carrera 4 GTS is a bit slower in the zero to 60 time, at 3.8 seconds.
GTS models are available in two transmission choices. Select from an eight-speed, dual clutch automatic or a seven-speed manual. Both provide an exhilarating ride.
Sports Suspension is Standard
The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS model comes with the PASM sport suspension as standard. This provides a Sport Stability Mode and a selectable exhaust tuning feature that delivers a thrilling choice of “voices” for the GTS. The Sport Chrono package facilitates launch control. PDK, analog and digital dashboard options and Sports Plus Modes.
An Even Lower Profile
The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS models sit .4 inches lower, offering an even sleeker profile. A GPS monitored from the wheel axle monitoring system raises the front axle slightly when uneven roads necessitate, and even remembers the location of such anomalies. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and rear-axle steering are also available. 20” and 21” wheels are standard.
A Functional, Sporty Interior
The interior of the GTS models are iconically Porsche sports luxury in nature. Corduroy trimmed upholstery can be stitched in matching exterior colors. Lightweight one-piece carbon seating is an option, although more comfortable, upholstered, 14 and 18 way adjustable seats are a less expensive option.
Whatever you select to personalize your Porsche 911 GTS, you are sure to impress and be impressed.
